Caperton Trail is an asphalt-paved trail that is close to six miles long in one direction. The trail runs through the Hazel Ruby McQuain Riverfront Park, the Edit Barill Park and the West Virginia University Core Arboretum, while providing great views of the Monongahela River. What's summer in America without a great local fair? For more than 60 years, Monongalia County Fair has drawn thousands of visitors from across West Virginia and neighboring states. Traditional events and activities such as a kickoff parade, midway rides, food and craft exhibits, and livestock shows are part of the five-day event. Unlike many fairs, all rides, shows, and concerts are included in the low admission price of $10 ($15 on Saturday). The 2020 Monongalia County Fair is scheduled for Tuesday, August 11 through Saturday, August 15.
