Backyard Fire Pit - Heritage Real Estate Co.

A fire pit is a popular addition to your yard since it creates a cozy gathering spot. And building one lets you get creative as you determine its size, shape, and materials to suit your needs and sense of style.

Our real estate agents suggest looking at the following DIY fire pits for inspiration:

  • Inexpensive Fire Pit
    From thriftylittlemom.com

You don't necessarily need mortar to build a fire pit from retaining wall blocks, as Kim Anderson of thriftylittlemom.com proves. As long as they're stacked correctly, she says, they'll stay put. Her four-tier fire pit uses a cleared, flat area of her backyard as a bottom, and she broke a block in half to use in the second tier as a way for air to reach the fire.

West Virginia State Anthem - Heritage Real Estate Co.

"Almost heaven, West Virginia." Residents of the Mountain State, including our real estate agents, have long recognized the truth of that sentiment. Today, thanks to an iconic song by John Denver, people around the world know about the glorious beauty of West Virginia.

June 20, 2020, marked the 157th birthday of West Virginia. While the annual celebration in Morgantown is postponed, this is a good occasion to take a look back at the story behind "Take Me Home, Country Roads" and how it became a state anthem.

Nature Photography - Morgantown, WV - Heritage Real Estate Co.

Thanks to smartphones, you don't need to own an expensive camera to take quality photos. Morgantown homes for sale are surrounded by scenic areas to document in pictures. Head out to these beautiful spots on Monday, June 15 and catch some great shots for National Nature Photography Day

  • Cheat Lake Park - Bunker Hill Rd., Morgantown, WV 26508
At 13 miles long, Cheat Lake Park offers a wide range of photo opportunities. No wakes are permitted in this portion of the lake, which allows for some stunning panorama shots. Your best bet is the 4.5-mile trail that traces the Lake Lynn shoreline. The 12-foot-wide paved walkway is handicap-accessible and affords plenty of space. Be sure to make a stop at the nature viewing on the southern tip of the trail.

Resolve Problem Noises - Homeowners - Heritage Real Estate Co.

It's a little disconcerting where your home starts making strange noises. You might worry that your home isn't ready to join the inventory of Morgantown homes for sale, or you may envision a lot of costly troubleshooting to identify the source of the problem. Keep reading for helpful info to aid you in identifying strange house sounds.

  • Your HVAC Makes Noise When It Comes On
For the most part, your home's heating and cooling system should be quiet. If your system makes a few moans and groans when you turn it after an extended break, this is usually due to the system's metal expanding and contracting. This sound is normal and should quickly subside. You can confidently call our real estate agents to put your home on the market.

However, if you notice that your system makes screeching or chirping sounds, this indicates there's an issue with a belt, a bearing, or the motor. Have an HVAC expert examine your unit and make any necessary repairs. Otherwise, you risk a small repair turning into a larger issue.
